Yes, ceramics. When Matt crafted the first Benjamin North candle with Hales by his side spectating— it was spectacular. That’s a 90s reference. Nevertheless, the candle did what he set out to do. The aroma was excellent. It filled the room with such a captivating aroma that they were thunderstruck. Not by what he had created, but because for some reason it didn’t seem complete. Something was missing. He spent months designing the perfect candle and just when he was preparing to launch the first batch of Benjamin North candles he realized what was missing. The quest began. It wasn’t yet perfect. It was far from perfect. It did not yet look like a Benjamin North candle— whatever that means.

While there are many candle vessel options to choose from, one thing a Benjamin North candle wanted to be was a showpiece. Not a loud in your face showpiece, but a subtle less is more kind of showpiece. Enter the subtle reactive glazed solid colored ceramic. When we designed our ceramic vessel we knew what the goal was. To make our happy place our happy place. While your décor might call for a charcoal candle, or a red candle that only makes its appearance during the holidays, whatever the case may be it needs to make you happy. The clutter isn’t necessary. There’s beauty in simplicity. There’s perfection is minimalism. Our ceramics encompass all of that.
